How to reset your modem?

As you all know I was IP banned off the CODHQ for having multiple accounts even though I only had one.
So I want to change my IP so I can post there again. I called my ISP (Charter) and asked them if they could switch it and they said no because I wasn't a commercial business.
So I am almost sure that you can switch your IP by resting your modem, but I have no clue how to do that. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

on the back of your modem, near the ports, there should be a recessed button.
should be pretty small, push in the button with a pen or something....then go back into your firmware and reset all your ports and what not.
what kind of modem is it?

And then do the same thing, reset my ports, etc?

unplugging is just going to power cycle the modem and not change anything.
google your modem model and find the "hard reset" button

Try using a claw hammer and hitting the top of your modem with the claw end of the claw hammer until your problem is fixed.

I reset my router, unplugged my modem and router, restarted my computer and somehow, IT WORKED! I can now post on the CODHQ, NO MORE IP BAN FOR ME! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
