THE EVƎNT - Anyone watch it?

The Event (typographically stylized THE EVƎNT) is an American science fiction political thriller television series created by Nick Wauters, which premiered on NBC on September 20, 2010. The show's plot centers on the presence of extraterrestrial people who have been detained by the United States Government for sixty-six years and who may now become exposed to the general populace. The show was picked up for a full season order of 22 episodes by NBC on October 18, 2010.

Near the end of World War II, an aircraft of undetermined origin crashed in the Brooks Range of northern Alaska. It carried passengers who appeared outwardly human, but were eventually determined to be of extra-terrestrial origin. Their DNA is slightly less than one percent different from humans, and they age at a much slower rate. Most of the survivors were captured by the U.S. government and held in a secret facility nearby run by intelligence agencies, since they have refused to disclose much about their origin. The remaining survivors, who only sustained minor injuries, were able to escape the crash scene and currently live among the population.

President Elias Martinez learns of the facility's existence shortly after his inauguration and decides, after meeting the leader of the detainees, to release them and disclose their existence to the world over the objections of the intelligence agencies. His plans are put on hold when an assassination attempt on him is foiled by means beyond human technology. The CIA realizes there are other aliens and secretly plans to find and kill them. Unknown to the agency, the agent chosen to head the effort is himself an alien. The aliens are divided internally on how to respond to this.

Caught in the middle of these events is Sean Walker, whose plans to propose to his girlfriend Leila on a Caribbean cruise are cut short when she mysteriously disappears from the ship. His investigation eventually leads him to uncover the assassination plot.

Anyone watch this? I do. Personally, I love it, although it got wicked crappy reviews. It kinda reminds me of Lost and 24. Its very confusing, but I enjoy it.

After November 29th, there will be no more episodes of The Event until February 28th.

Also, more 7 year old mutant girls are needed, they only showed them once. (Anyone who watches the show knows what I am talking about)

When the ads first came up i was going to watch it. Then they just kept playing the ads over and over for what seemed like forever and it went overkill on me so I didn't watch it. I remember hearing "He's going to tell them about the event" and saying out loud "I don't fucking care anymore!".

Your mention of mutant children makes me want to see it tho. Know if it's all on hulu or somewhere?

I think all the episodes are on NBC.com. I don't even know why I watch it, it makes no sense whatsoever, but I cannot stop watching it for some reason.

All I watch nowadays is Conan. That's it.

So it's 9PM here and The Event just came on. However, I am on episode six on Hulu. I turned on the television and saw the "last week on The Event" part and realized I couldn't spoil the few episodes I hadn't seen yet. Now I must wait until tomorrow for the new episode to go on the internet while I watch the rest of seven and eight tonight =/

Well tonight is the last episode of "The Event". Then it doesn't air again until February. Expect some type of giant cliffhanger that will leave you on the edge of your seats, damn, I hate cliffhangers. >_>

I think they are just aliens.

And, OMG, I just watched the "Fall Finale", as they call it. Holy crap, I liked. And as expected, damned cliffhanger. Now I have to wait 3 whole months until it is on again.

I don't think that ending was that great. I thought some else was going to happen tho so it did surprise me a bit.

LOL, the main guy in The Event, Jason Ritter, was presenting some of the games on Spike TVs VGAs last night.

I loled.

This starts again tonight. 2 hour special starting at 8. I r obsessed.

I still hate the daughter. Every time she talks or does anything I want to punch the tv. The character is just really annoying.

Also, wasn't the boyfriend shot in the last episode? Not dead but I'm pretty sure he was wounded. In this episode he was sprinting around and stuff just fine.

This show got too retarded for my liking.

How the hell do I keep missing episodes. I checked tvguide every week and it said it's not on or a re-run. Today I go online to watch the newest episode and it turns out I'm behind three episodes. What the damn.

The Event has been canceled. The remaining episodes will air but the show will not have a 2nd season.
