To Kinect or not to Kinect
I'm looking at this thing and trying to figure out if it is worth the money or not. Any suggestions? Should I get it or save my money for something else?

Re: To Kinect or not to Kinect
IMHO, the Move did a better job at making hardware that can be used by both casual and less casual titles. Kinect is cool, but limited to things you do with your body, which lends itself to be much more casual than, say Killzone 3.
The kinect hacks are cool, and that's the only reason I would buy one is to mess around with it controlling Minecraft or something like that.

I liked the idea. For gaming I'd rather have the Move as you get to keep buttons and analog sticks. Kinect is made for rail shooters and stuff that you don't really control all too much.
The things people are doing with the hacks for Kinect are awesome tho. There have been loads of really neat things people are doing with it. I saw one video where Xray tecs made it so that doctors in the OR can switch between slides and stuff on the computer with out having to touch stuff and have to disinfect everything again. Then people made it so that you can play WOW with it.

You forgot about making it into an autonomous helicopter:
And an autonomous RC car:

Is it just me or does the helicopter one look like a flying Wall-E?
