An example of excellent trolling

Post  MegaMonkeyChunk on Wed Oct 13, 2010 4:28 am

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/3048215.page

Seriously, it isn't even funny how easy it is to troll people. All I did was search Battlefield Bad Company 2 on youtube, find the worst video I could then post it claiming its mine. People then get worked up and try to tell me I'm terrible at the game. The whole time, my stats are in my sig.

Troll Post = Success

Looks like those forums get spammed more than here. That's bad.

I've vistied that site a few times. I find it to be very plain. At the same time, why would you troll on purpose? You guys aren't getting along very well with IWF (obviously), what if someone made the connection between you and TPF? That would just bring more spam here and more bad rep.

Just my opinion. I don't mean to start anything.

Them forums are awful, with the loading times and the work check thingy.

I'm not purposely trying to troll. More of a simple nudge that turns into an avalanche because of the stupidity of other people. If they had any brains, they could tell I was trolling.

I understand, and believe me, I don't shy away from letting people know they are dumb. Though, you can't deny you are the common denominator in that scenario. Aside from you thinking they are stupid, You still disrtupted their board with a worthless thread that turned into flaming.

Regardless, I'm no saint. Just food for thought.

The board is almost all troll threads anyway. Disruption happens so often, it has become the norm. The fact the people still haven't caught on is the point I'm trying to make.

But look at it from their point of view. If someone came in here and pulled something like that, you guys would be all over them with flamage.

I'm not saying its right or wrong, just playing devil's advocate I guess.

Not really. Sometimes, when trolling is really obvious, I play along. Trolls want angry reactions, laughing is the exact opposite. Unless its the ultimate troll post that the troll wants you to laugh at dogsuspect

@Loyal Xpat

If I leave a gun on the table.......and you shoot someone with it.......is it my fault for leaving the gun.......or your fault for actually pulling the trigger?

If you left it so it couldn't be fired ie with a trigger lock and unloaded and the person forcibly removed it and shot somebody, then there's nothing you could have done about it. You left it in a state where it couldn't be fired. If you left a loaded gun around with no trigger lock, then its negligence.

Now you're comparing murder with trolling. I know that wasn't your intention, but that's a difficult example to draw a conclusion from. As someone stated, yes you infact can be held accountable if you left a loaded gun on the table and someone injured or killed another person with it. It is your responsibility as the gun owner to make sure it is stored safely.

I think the point I'm trying to make, is I enjoy all forums, and there are already grumblings going around that TPF users are just trolls and spammers who think their "sh*t don't stink". And I assure you, I'm not getting that info from the IWF. Don't you all want to be known as a forum that is fun, respectful, and a forum where anyone can join and have a good time.

Some of you might say that is what TPF is now, but I get the feeling that is not so. I'd like to think some of you know where I'm coming from, if not, it's just an opinion.

Sorry to get "deep" on you guys. Very Happy

I've been part of the BC2 forums before I joined TPF. I'm not trolling there "For the power forums" if you get what I'm saying. Sure, it looks bad on me, but I have 1000+ posts there which just shows how stupid people there are.

Either way, just throwing a different perspective at you. I can't deny that there are some real "slow people" on forums these day. Very Happy

I guess I can see both sides. Sometimes I believe "stupid" people deserve what they get, but at the same time I'm sure TPF wants a good reputation too. I'm not talking about that specific situation, just in general.

I apprecaite the fun debate. Smile
