Collectors Editions
Are these getting a little too ridiculous? The CoD Black Ops one comes with a fucking RC car.
Also in the news, the Crysis Collectors Ed. for 360 has an 11" statue, art book, random shit and a backpack.
We've come a long way from cat helmets...
In truth, the collectors ed. that ruined it for me was the Fallout 3 one. Lunchbox? Bobblehead? SOLD!
And I haven't bought another collectors ed since.

Re: Collectors Editions
Fallout 3's collectors edition is one of my favorites, wish I would have been able to get my hands on one. It was actually collectible too, people wanted and still want the lunchbox and bobble head, that's rare anymore.
I support having them include things you can actually use but some of these are outlandish, like an RC car or NVG's. At the end of the day though I would rather have something I can put on my shelf and be happy to have, and let's face it, an RC car on your shelf would look a little ridiculous.
I wish that what Treyarch did with the colored clan tag would have caught on. I don't necessarily mean I want colored clan tags, I just like the idea of having something in-game to show your purchase.
I am kind of disappointed with New Vegas' collectors edition, nothing in to justify the extra $20.
Collectors editions are also becoming too predictable, even more so with CoD (Hardened edition anyway). I want to get some custom in-game gear especially if CaC 2.0 turns out to be what I am hoping it will be. I don't see why I couldn't have a custom helmet/watch to show off (Rolex anyone?). I would even go as far to say a custom camouflage for the first unlocked assault rifle. Even the early unlocks were nice even though they were exclusive to preset classes which sucked, there is no reason to not let us use them in Create a class.

The only SE I ever got was World In Conflicts, and that was because it was cheaper than the full version for some reason. I have a piece of the Berlin Wall now. Its cool. I lost it though.

Re: Collectors Editions
The only Collector's edition I ever bought was the RE5 one. That was when I still thought RE5 was gonna be good.

Meh. I pre-ordered the Hardened Edition of Black Ops. I usually get the most expensive version of the game only because I am a CoD fanboy but I didn't want to pay $150 for the RC car. Now if it came with the explosives then that would be another story...

The only collectors edition i own is MGS4
It came with a blue ray disc all about the making of the game, that sort of interests me so that's why.

With the exception of Fallout. I was more referring to CoD.
